Committed to inclusive, accessible learning

SplintStudy designs our platform, courses and services so they work for as many learners as possible - including people with disabilities.

We follow WCAG standards, test with assistive technologies, and welcome feedback to improve.

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

SplintStudy is committed to delivering an inclusive learning experience. We design and maintain our platform to be accessible to users with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and other disabilities. Accessibility is integrated into our design, engineering and content workflows.

  • Inclusive design: accessibility is considered from product concept to release.
  • Transparent goals: we aim for WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA conformance and are steadily improving.

2. Standards & Testing

We align with recognized international accessibility standards and perform ongoing testing:

  • WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 (working toward Level AA)
  • WAI-ARIA and semantic HTML
  • Section 508 considerations and local Ghana accessibility guidelines

We use manual audits, automated checks (Axe, Lighthouse), and assistive technology testing (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).

3. Accessibility Features

We process personal data to provide and improve SplintStudy’s services, including:

  • Creating and managing user accounts, processing course enrollments, and delivering course content and certifications.
  • Processing payments, invoices, and refunds.
  • Providing technical support and responding to inquiries.
  • Personalizing recommendations and content based on learning history and preferences.
  • Conducting analytics to improve platform performance, content quality, and user experience.
  • Preventing fraud, abuse, and other security incidents.
  • Sending administrative and marketing communications (with your consent where required).
  • Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our Terms of Use.

4. Accessible Courses & Materials

We design course materials and learning paths to be accessible:

  • Captions and transcripts for lectures
  • Downloadable, accessible file formats (accessible PDFs, HTML materials)
  • Keyboard-friendly interactive exercises
  • Support for different learning speeds and repeated review

If a course lacks a needed accommodation, contact us - we’ll work to provide alternative formats or support.

5. Limitations & Known Issues

While we make continuous improvements, some items may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Some instructor-uploaded videos may be missing captions
  • Legacy documents that pre-date accessibility controls
  • Third-party tools and integrations beyond our direct control

We track these limitations and prioritize remediation in our roadmap.

6. Continuous Improvement

We maintain an accessibility program that includes:

  • Regular accessibility audits (manual + automated)
  • User testing with assistive technology users
  • Developer and instructor training on inclusive design
  • Accessibility requirements in product planning

Accessibility is a continuous journey — we publish updates and release notes when major fixes are applied.
